Ham University - Morse Training and Testing

Actual Morse code lessons are accessed by clicking on ?Lessons.? You must first put a Lesson Plan together. This is easily accomplished following the directions guided by Morris the Cat?an animated cat who assists by describing each function the mouse pointer indicates. My favorite method is the ?Exercise? approach done by copying with the keyboard. What you type is shown in the lower panel. At the end of the exercise, you can compare what you typed with the sent message displayed in the upper panel. Variables that you can manually adjust include speed in words per minute, character speed, message length and word length. In addition to all this, Ham University offers a Morse game called PENTODE. The object is to build a large number of points in a short period of time. These points are received by connecting two or more tiles (the more the better), each containing the same character, as a diode (side by side), triode, tetrode or pentode. Personally, I found the game far less exciting than the speed exercise to copy Morse on the keyboard in the shortest possible time.
Conclusion
Ham University is an excellent tool for anyone wishing to use a computer to study for an Amateur Radio license, regardless of which level they wish to pursue. Of course, my recommendation is to use such a program in conjunction with a class. In the absence of such a class, Ham University provides everything you need to go from ground zero all the way to Amateur Extra?in the comfort of your own living room.
I?d be remiss in this review if I neglected to mention something else. Displayed at the top of each page of the instruction booklet is a flag of a foreign country. Next to the flag is the appropriate country name, accompanied by its latitude and longitude, CQ Zone number and call sign prefix. This is a very nice touch, adding to the educational and instructional factor of the Ham University program.

Converse Tetris!
It is unusual clone of Tetris with girl-traveler Viki. This game consists of three:
1. Ascent.
In this type of Tetris everything is quite opposite of what you have got accustomed: your main task lies not in arranging shaped blocks in the pit, so that they would create rows, but in placing them without any special order. However, you should do it with the purpose of leading the girl to the stairs, which she can climb up to the next level.
The girl moves continuously and on coming up against an obstacle (a high 'footstep' or a steep) she turns and continues her movement in the opposite direction.
In every new level you have to elevate the girl upper and upper. Besides the "prison" appears; and you need to get girl out of it first before elevating.
2. Descent.
The second game is pretty much alike the first one, though now your task is to get the girl downstairs from a column to the stairs.
In every new level the length of the column where the girl starts her lowering increases by 1 square.
3. Simple Tetris.
The game becomes more and more complicated since the decrease of lines directly leads to the increase of bricks' speed.

ControlSheet is a very simple desktop utility offering quick control over screen saver and display mode settings. It may be helpful, if you have to change these settings very often.
For example, automatically starting screen saver may be very objectionable in particular cases (e.g. watching video or burning CD-R). Disabling screen saver forever doesn't seem to be a good idea. On the other hand, open control panel, deselect and reselect your favorite screen saver each time may be annoying. As for ControlSheet, it always sits in the system tray and quickly accessible. Using it, you can disable/reenable screen saver in a pair of clicks.
Similarly, ControlSheet may be helpful, if you have to often switch display resolutions. For example, usually I work in a high resolution mode (1280x1024), but some applications looks too small in such case. So, each time I need such application, I have to switch low resolution mode like 800x600. Again, ControlSheet offers switching between display modes in minimum mouse moves.
Another annoying problem is that after turning to the lower screen resolution and then reverting back desktop icons and open windows appear to be crowd to the upper left screen corner. ControlSheet automatically saves icons and windows positions and restores them after each mode switch.
So, ControlSheet is a very simple utility, which can make your work more comfortable.

In creation of the password there will be participate only allowed charsets:
