Knowledge Room uses 3-D technology to enable users to navigate, gather, organize, and recall information. Taking advantage of human perception and spatial memory, Knowledge Room helps people organize information in their computer in the same way they organize in the real world: by manipulating objects in 3D space, with a sense of depth, color, texture, and lighting.
Knowledge Room places the user inside of a large room with beamed ceilings, brick walls and an upper loft. Environment views offer close-ups of bookshelves in each area.
The environment view engages one's sense of perception, invoking a different thought process: "Music files are in the cabinet near the stereo"; "Newspapers are in the large green book on the bottom shelf near the couch."
Knowledge Room users organize information into books. A book can contain many things: web pages, notes, documents, email messages, or references to pictures, music, spreadsheets - anything launched from the traditional Windows desktop.
Gathering content into books is easy: drag web pages from the browser and drop them into books; drop email messages and files onto books; "AutoClip" text into books from any Windows program.
Knowledge Room provides an alternative to the decades-old desktop metaphor. The desktop is 2-dimensional and non-intuitive, limiting us to folders and files. Everyone is familiar with the problem of hunting for information through cryptically labeled files scattered across hundreds of confusing directory and subdirectory names. Web browsers only exacerbate the situation, giving us access to a world of information, with only flat folder bookmarks to keep track of it all.
Knowledge Room changes all of that by tapping into our natural ability to think spatially, allowing us to keep information in real books, placed in oak and mahogany bookcases throughout a richly rendered environment.
"Knowledge Room....
...putting information in its place."

Vorras Antibot is an image generation program that prevents automatic form submission by robots. If your web site is being overwhelmed with spam, automatic registrations, automatic forum or classified ad submissions etc., Vorras Antibot can solve this problem by introducing a picture in your HTML forms that only a human can recognize.
How does it work?
Vorras Antibot generates a random sequence of alphanumeric characters and a picture in PNG format that shows this sequence. It returns the filename of the picture and the sequence in encrypted (hashed) format. The filename and encrypted sequence can then be stored in your HTML form. The user who attempts to fill out the form has to look at the picture and type in the sequence he sees. When the form is submitted the sequence the user typed in is encrypted as well (hashed) and compared to the original sequence. If the sequences match the user passes the test, else it is necessary to re-try. See the Demo on our website to get an idea of how this works.
Vorras Antibot uses pre-existing PNG files to form the character sequence in PNG format. These files are graphic files of alphanumeric characters in PNG format, and are provided when you download Vorras Antibot. If you want to change the existing PNG files you can replace with your own as follows:
Use any graphics package to create png files for all letters and numbers and name them as a.png, b.png,..., 0.png, 1.png, ...
Upload them on your server and place them in the data subdirectory inside the Vorras Antibot directory.
Run the parseidat.py script. This will generate the intermediate format files a.dat, b.dat etc. necessary to run Vorras Antibot.
After you complete the steps above you can re-run Vorras Antibot with your new graphic files. For more information please also see the README file which accompanies the Antibot software.

DIRlist provides user descriptions of files and subdirectories. It can be difficult to identify a files purpose and content with just the filename, especially when the file is old or shared between users. DIRlist provides free text descriptions to supplement the file name for project documentation, instruction manuals, and general identification of directory contents. Files and subdirectories are displayed with file sizes, dates, and a user description. DIRlist can navigate from directory to directory propagating subdirectory descriptions in related directories. DIRlist saves the descriptions in an HTML file of each directory accessed by DIRlist.
- Help identify files and directories shared by other users
- Print, display, and browse directory listings with file descriptions
- Used for project documentation, instruction manuals, and directory contents
- Document the files and directories to promote identification
- Propagates related descriptions by navigating between directories
