AccuSplit

AccuSplit is a multi-threaded Win32 application designed to rapidly and reliably split large files and computer videos into smaller segments to allow for easy archival to external media like DVD, CD-R, Zip or floppy disks. These file segments can then be recombined at a later time into an exact copy of the original file. The application is capable of segmenting and then correctly reconstructing ANY file, even large Windows Backup files that exceed 20GB. To insure that the file reconstructed from the file segments exactly matches the original source file the application incorporates an advanced cryptographic algorithm that computes an MD5 Message Digest for both the original and reconstructed files. An MD5 Message Digest match between these files indicates with absolute certainty that no data was lost during the file split and reconstruction process. AccuSplit also includes a special Video Smart Split mode that can split AVI (including DIVX / XVID / INDEO / DV-AVI) and MPEG-1 format files (including Video-CD) into "independently playable" segments without a lengthy video re-rendering process. Now you can split your large video files into CD-sized (or any other size) segments and play them back directly from the CD - no file reconstruction is required. The latest version includes a Video Preview option that allows the user to manually adjust the location of the file split points - avoiding splits in the middle of an important scene. AccuSplit has been designed to run as a stand-alone executable. There is nothing to install. Simply extract the application and its help files from the downloaded Zip file and double-click on the AccuSplit.EXE file to begin program execution. The application runs under Windows [95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/Server2003] and doesn't include any of the annoying AdWare or NagWare plug-ins that are common to many of today's shareware applications. AccuSplit also includes a full user help file.

ZipSplitter

The main purpose of ZipSplitter is to simplify the task of copying large files on floppy disks. It also can be useful if you need to send large file via email. It splits file on smaller self-restoring parts, i.e. initial file can be restored without ZipSplitter. This is possible because ZipSplitter adds a very short code (4kb) to the last file, making it executable. ZipSplitter can compress file before splitting using ZIP compression, this may significantly decrease the size of the file (you can use WinZip software to unzip compressed files). Better than WinZip multivolume feature (because you should not rewrite all the diskettes on any error, and you must not have WinZip on the computer where these diskettes will be read. Very easy to use. Just select "Split with ZipSplitter" from file menu of Windows Explorer.

SplitCam

SplitCam virtual video capture driver allows for connecting several applications to a single video capture source. For example, if you have a web-camera connected to your computer you cannot use it in more than one application at the same time - there?s no standard Windows options that would make it possible. SplitCam does just what its name says: it splits the video stream coming from the video source and provides it to other client applications. With SplitCam you can connect up to 64 clients to a single video source.Usually after installing a video capture device, like web-camera, dv-camera, TV-tuner, or a TV-IN video card, you can only connect to it from one Windows application. If you start another application and try to use the same video source you?ll get an error message complaining about the device being already in use. In this case you have no choice but to wait for the first application to finish its work, or quit the thought of using the second application at all. Sometimes it may be absolutely necessary or most advisable to use, say, your web-camera in more than one client application at the same time. What if you want to conduct a video conference with several people independently? Or you want to record your video-chat using your favorite video capture software? That?s where SplitCam can become of great help! All you have to do is just install the SplitCam software on your computer, connect it to a video source, and connect other applications to the SplitCam virtual capture device. It will look exactly like you have 64 independent video source plugged in to your computer!

LP Ripper

LP Ripper makes the task of converting vinyl LPs, tapes and cassettes to MP3 files or CDs much easier. Just record each side of your LP as a single WAV file on your computer. LP Ripper automatically splits the file into a separate WAV file for each track. Optionally, it can also call your MP3 or WMA encoder to produce a separate compressed file for each track. You can listen to previews of tracks and visually trim the start and finish using the coarse/fine split-screen graphical display. Fades and silence can also be applied to the start and end of each track. Preset parameters are included for the freeware MP3 and WMA Encoders, FastEnc and WM8eutil.

MeshWorks for Rhino

MeshWorks for Rhino is a plug-in for Rhino. It adds a variety of mesh manipulation commands to Rhino. Some of the useful commands are given below: Hollow: This command hollows the mesh to a given wall thickness. Hollowing is particularly useful while preparing a model for Rapid Prototyping as it saves material, time and money while building a prototype. Offset: This command offsets a mesh to either shrink or expand it. PointsToMesh: This command creates a mesh from a set of points. Stitch: This command knits loosely tied faces of a mesh and attempts to make a mesh water-tight. FillHoles: This command adds faces to an existing mesh in order to fill any holes. The result is a water-tight mesh. ExtractSolid: This command extracts a solid from a mesh. ExtractPlanarSurfaces: This command extracts a planar trimmed NURBS surface from a mesh. ExtractShells: This command extracts connected surfaces from a single mesh and creates a new mesh for each connected surface. This is useful while working on different parts of a mesh. ExtractSurfaces: This command extracts surfaces of a mesh and creates a new mesh for each surface. ExtractFeatures: This command extracts features of a mesh. This is useful to create a NURBS model from a polygon mesh. ExtractBoundaries: This command extracts the boundaries of an open mesh. SplitMesh: This command splits a mesh with a planar surface into two parts. Smoothen: This command relaxes a mesh by removing sharp edges. Decimate: This command reduces the number of faces of a mesh while maintaining continuity in the topology. MeshWorks for Rhino adds a new menu to the existing Rhino menu containing all the added commands. Simply use this menu to manipulate meshes.

Bar Graph MDI

Bar Graph MDI browses the web using GRML. GRML splits file and web page content into a form AND a view. The form is used for input controls, to handle user input for web requests. The view is used for display controls to show web page results. The results are dsplayed using 6 different graphs. Reading either the GRML, CSV or character-delimited formats, content is displayed using a bar, pie, stacked bar, 3D bar, 3D pie, or 3D stacked bar graph. HTML defines HOW web page content appears. There is one way HTML is displayed. This is called a display definition markup language. GRML defines WHAT web page content is. It is called a data definition markup language. In HTML, regardless of how many web browsers there are, they all try to display a web page the same way. In GRML, the web browser decides the way to display a web page. Why? GRML does not define a specific view of a web page. That means different GRML web browsers display the same web page differently. GRML content consists of input controls, columns, and results. The columns and results create the view. By removing the input controls from the view, the columns and results are able to be arranged in multiple ways. This approach allows different graphs to be used on the same columns and results, each providing different information. Unlike HTML, GRML supports "named" content. This means support for multidimensional views of a web page. To view 2 pages of message board results, or 4 pages of auction listings, or 6 pages of headlines, a HTML web browser loads each page. Viewing each web page requires navigating between them. Using GRML, load the content in one web page, each with its own "name". Then, use a drop-down list to display the content based on its "name". Separating the form from other web page content, support for multiple AND multidimensional views, and compatibility with other data definition formats means GRML web browsers offer another way to browse the web.
