Archive & Restore

With Archive & Restore, you can save, stow away and restore files easily. After archiving, links will remain that let you access archived files in their original places. The program supports archiving to removable disks and catalogs them in a database. Files are stored in their original format and directly accessible. You can search in the archives, including searching for free text that you entered when archiving. A link left behind after stowing away a file can be copied or moved to another folder. To avoid clutter, links are collected in special files. Saved versions of a file are listed under its properties on an additional page. There you can open and restore a previous version quickly. If necessary, you will be prompted to insert the appropriate disk. You will be able to move files between archives without losing links to them. This will mean that you can collect files in an archive on your hard disk until it is worthwhile burning a CD. Archive & Restore will extend the Windows shell you can use with Explorer. Archives and removable disks will be displayed there and files grouped by archiving periods.

The Master Cluster's FolderJump is a simple and handy extension for the standard context menus of Windows Explorer and Open/Save Dialogs. With FolderJump, it is easy to change the current folder to another one picked from the predefined list. FolderJump will instantly bring that folder to the same Windows Explorer's or Open/Save Dialog's window in just 2 mouse clicks. Originally, I wrote it for myself. I like Windows Explorer. However, I was finally bored to wander through all of that drop-down lists and directory trees to only select just single file or folder. But now, with FolderJump, I can reach to any of my most used folders in just 2 mouse clicks: 1st right-click to call the context menu and 2nd - to select a folder!

Context Menu Extension DLL

The Context Menu Extension DLL is a easiest way to add Windows Explorer context menu extension (like WinZip) into your own application. This menu will appear every time users click right mouse button over file(s) or folder(s) inside Windows Explorer window (or another file-manager (e.g. Windows Commander or Total Commander), which supports standard shell menu). This DLL was created as response to multiply questions in developers newsgroups. Every week we read questions something like "How to add my context menu extension like WinZip?". This is very difficult topic, which requires explanations how works Windows Shell and shell interfaces (like IContextMenu interface), how register your shell extension on user's system and so on. Much faster answer "Read MSDN!", and this is right answer, because of Microsoft provides enough documentation about this question. But another solution - don't waste time and ask those, who already learned this problem. We worked with context menus since first versions of Windows 95 and continue this work untill now, for various purposes, for various projects. Now we can say that we are able to create Windows Explorer context menu extension for any developers, who need to add this feature into theirs applications.

Eraser is an advanced security tool, which allows you to completely remove sensitive data from your hard drive by overwriting it several times with carefully selected patterns. You can drag and drop files and folders to the on-demand eraser, use the convenient Explorer shell extension or use the integrated scheduler to program overwriting of unused disk space or, for example, browser cache files to happen regularly, at night, during your lunch break, at weekends or whenever you like. The patterns used for overwriting are based on Peter Gutmann's paper "Secure Deletion of Data from Magnetic and Solid-State Memory" and they are selected to effectively remove the magnetic remnants from the hard disk. Other methods include the one defined in the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual of the US Department of Defense and overwriting with pseudo-random data. You can also define your own overwriting methods.
