Slice'n'Splice

Picture a scenario... You've spent a substantial part of the day down-loading the latest, fastest, bestest shoot-em-up game demo. And of course, you're not stupid, so you did this at work using the fast company internet connection. But you wouldn't dare actually play the thing at work, far too risky, you don't want to get fired after all. But it's 56 MB, and the only way to get it home is to copy it onto 41 floppy disks. Oh well. You spend eons zipping it onto a huge pile of floppies and eagerly take them home. You start unpacking them. It takes an age, but you're so looking forward to the game. All is going fine, but then disaster strikes - the fortieth floppy is duff. You can't read from it. You realise, with mounting dismay, that you'll have to create the whole zip set again. All 41 floppies of it. Unlikely? A tall story you think? Well it happened to me. Really, it did. Enter Slice'n'Splice. It slices huge files into floppy (or any other) size chunks, and then splices them back together again. Each chunk can be copied to a floppy independently of the rest. Once you have all the chunks where you want them, simply run Slice'n'Splice again (or run the optionally generated MS-DOS .BAT file) to splice the chunks back into the original file. If a floppy fails and a chunk is corrupted, then first of all Slice'n'Splice will detect this and warn you about it, and secondly, you only need to recopy that one bad chunk. Not the whole set. You can even create a shortcut to Slice'n'Splice in the SendTo directory. Then simply right-click on a file, select Send To from the pop-up menu, then select Slice'n'Splice. Easy.

PowerZip

Unzip downloads, create your own Zip files and password-protect (encrypt) confidential documents with PowerZip - an easy to use file compression & security program. PowerZip Compression / Extraction Wizards make working with archives (such as Zip files) easy while providing an array of advanced features. The Wizards are quick to use because they have only a small number of steps; some steps can be switched of if not needed, others can be skipped to use default options. Pop-up tooltips explain the purpose of each button or control. You can use PowerZip's 128-bit & 256-bit AES encryption to create password-protected Zip files to store confidential documents and files or send them through insecure channels, such as e-mail. PowerZip supports two new compression methods (Deflate64 and BWT) to provide you with a higher level of compression than is normally available in Zip files. Standard Zip compression is also supported for compatibility with other Zip programs. PowerZip adds itself to the Windows Explorer right-click menu, enabling you to perform common compression tasks (zipping, unzipping, encryption, splitting) directly from Windows Explorer / My Computer. PowerZip supports 12 types of archives - PowerZip can create & unzip Zip, Cab, Tar, Bz2, Gz, Arj and Ha archives; PowerZip can also unzip Rar, Ace, Jar, Lzh and Z archives. If you routinely perform compression tasks (such as daily backups), you can automate them by recording PowerZip Macro Files. Macro Files allow you to repeat the recorded compression (or extraction) task with a simple double-click; you can also run PowerZip Macro Files as part of an automated script. If you need to distribute large files to friends, colleagues or customers who might not have a Zip program, PowerZip allows you to create a self-extracting archive that can be unzipped without requiring a compression program. PowerZip 7 license comes with free technical support via e-mail and free upgrades.

3D Visioner - 3D Visualization addon for Visio

3D Visioner is an add-on for Microsoft Visio 2002/2003, intended for viewing, editing and handy navigation in Microsoft Visio, using all of the power and conveniences of third dimension. With 3D Visioner you can perform a lot of wearisome Visio actions just by one or two clicks. All actions with Visio are at once automatically synchronized with 3D Visioner window. It is very difficult in most cases to determine the direction of links on complex Visio projects. In these cases you can use the power of 3D projections or just rotate the 3D view to see the interesting links. You can open as many 3D windows in each Visio project as you need. All Visioner windows are habitual Visio "Anchor windows" so you can dock them and work as you got into the way of using them. When you click on interesting object in 3D Visioner window, it immediately appears selected on appropriate Visio page. So you don't need to click on page and scroll it to find some object, or use Visio Find dialog. Same with pages. Click on page in 3D and it immediately will become visible in Visio. Now you can use all of the power of Visio hyperlinks, without any discomfort of performing many wearisome actions. Just select hyperlink creation tool and right-click on source and destination object. Hyperlinks are drawn different way, in yellow with nice small circle in the middle, so you can easily distinguish them from other links. Fill the power of working with entire project, including all pages, objects and hyperlinks and keeping all of them in full view.
