Tai Chi 3D is software that helps you learn Tai Chi. It describes each move of the Beijing 24 Step Simplified Taijiquan. The entire form is presented in two ways. Firstly, as a set of helpful notes that you can access just like a web site with the built-in web browser. And secondly as a series of fully three dimensional moving animations that you can view from any angle. You can select and play a single movement or the whole form, using controls that are similar to a video or CD player. Selecting a move automatically brings up the relevant notes about that move, and plays back the movement in real time, from any angle.
While there is no substitute for instruction by a qualified teacher, many students find instructional books and videos helpful in remembering and practicing the form that they learn at class. Text, pictures, and video are all helpful in recalling the correct form, but often the nature of these media can limit their effectiveness. Text is a good way of conveying concepts, but can't show a body position as effectively as a picture. Pictures can't easily show the subtleties of movement. Video recordings can be difficult to navigate, and limit the number of camera views that are offered. The Ohmikron 3D Model Editor was designed to improve the speed and efficiency
of 3-D graphics artists and to make it easier to import 3D models into new
software applications. Unlike conventional three-dimensional modeling packages,
the Ohmikron model editor gives you precise control over texture mapping at the
time each three-dimensional object is created. Instead of creating a model and
then applying a texture to it, you create the model by drawing it directly on
the texture. Textures are embedded in saved model files so there is no problem
with models getting separated from their textures. You can extract the textures
any time and save them to bitmap files, modify and reload them into your model.
Multiple geometric mesh objects can be created from a single texture and combined
into a three-dimensional model, with any seams quickly and accurately closed.
Solids of extrusion and revolution can be quickly created with texture map
coordinates automatically applied at the time of creation. Restricted vertex
editing allows modification of three-dimensional geometry in situations where
vertex selection would otherwise be ambiguous. The Ohmikron model editor is a

A turn based, multiplayer, play by e-mail war game. As large a group as you like can play at any pace the group decides on. (e.g. from one turn a week to several turns a day.) All players make their moves for each turn simultaneously, and each turn typically takes only a few minutes to play. One player who volunteers to host the game e-mails or otherwise sends the current game file to all the other players. When you get the game file, you make your moves at your convenience, then send the generated moves file to the host. When moves from all the players have been received, or when it's just time according to the deadlines set by the group, the host has the game process the next turn, then sends out the new game file to everybody. Players running the free unregistered version of e-war can participate in multiplayer games up to turn 12, then they must purchase a registration key in order to continue playing in that game.
