jWorkBook: Get Database information directly into your spreadsheet
Now a quick way to get the information that is currently in your system databases directly into your spreadsheet. jWorkbook is an Excel Add-In that enables you to build powerful queries to access the information directly and see the information in your Excel Spreadsheet. You can build reports quickly and interactively using the power of single or multiple SQL So.... the information you need is stored in the Oracle, Access or SQL database and you need to look at it and do some calcs and write a quick report? What are your options? Simple, find a programmer, tear him or her away from the thousand other jobs on the go and try to explain what you want. They will put your request into a queue and hey presto 3 months later you get the information you want...if you are lucky!
Enter jWorkBook: start up Excel, enter a simple SQL command....bang the information is there!
Not quite what you want? No problem, refine the command and run it again. Or add another command and run them both. Format the output in your spreadsheet, add a chart and you have your data in the format you want in a couple of minutes. Really that simple? You bet.
SQL is by far the most popular database language available today. It is used as the main form of communication by every database of note. It is extraordinarily powerful. But best of all, to do the vast majority of tasks, it is extremely simple. Unlike languages like C or Basic, you can do most of your data retrieval commands in a single statement. It is a fact that if you understand the English-like Select statement, you are probably 99% of the way to being self sufficient in retrieving your data from the database. Granted, as you get proficient in SQL, you will naturally extend your skills to more exotic structures but from day one, you are productive. But don't take our word for it, run through the tutorial and give it a try.

.NET Database Driven Application Generator, automatically generates multi-tier enterprise-level business applications. Everything is generated, database structure, logic layer, web forms, all SQL queries, and XML, VB and C# code. Simply define application objects in an intuitive visual design space, designate links from a clickable menu selection and choose GUI design and generate a working ready-to-deploy application. By default CompileX .NET generates 3 types of applications: 1. Multi-tier - Distributed Windows applications. Consists of 3 layers. 2. Web - Active Web Applications. Consists of 3 layers. 3. Simple client/server - It may be a simple desktop application working with local database as well as a real multi-user client/server application. Generated layers: 1. Database layer CompileX .Net automatically creates clear normalized relational database structure optimized to work with objects. It generates all required indexes and constraints and optimizes SQL queries to work with complex objects, to perform fast paging (for Web presentations) and more. 2. Logic Layer Generated multi-tier and Web applications work with data through generated Web Services. This allows the developer to concentrate most data processing logic in one separate layer. Generated Web Services already realize all logic needed to work with data and concentrate logic into separate classes. If, for example, you need to extend order-processing requests - simply change the method of generated Web Service. 3. Presentation Layer CompileX .Net automatically creates all Windows forms, all Web pages and all codes required to work with simple and complex objects with all child objects (or linked objects and lists of objects). Forms are sharp designs. Select desired design from library. CompileX.NET uses open code and GUI templates and allows customization of generated application. Adapt the look and feel to your corporate standards and generate your kind of application.

Your IP address is to your Internet connection what your phone number is to your telephone, except it tends to change all the time. That is fine for most people who only need to connect to other Internet locations. But if you run your own servers, others need to connect to you, and you need to keep your IP address from changing dynamically. One way to assure that is by keeping your DSL modem connected to your DSL provider. Additionally, however, your computer needs to keep "talking." Typically, people solve this problem by pinging some web site regularly. That works. Unfortunately, that also abuses the resources of that web site. KeepMyIP takes a different approach. Instead of pinging some third party, it sends a random DNS query to your ISP at random intervals ranging from 1 second to 10 minutes, with an average of around 5 minutes. This tells your ISP that your computer is currently active on the Internet. It does so very fast without involving any unrelated Internet sites. It also does it without wasting your computer memory and CPU cycles. KeepMyIP is written in assembly language, so it is very small and lightning fast. In between the queries it puts itself to sleep so it does not interfere with whatever your computer is doing. It runs silently in the background without ever popping any windows. If, for some reason, you need to send out queries more often than every five minutes, or so, you can run KeepMyIP more than once. Two copies will poll your ISP twice as often, three copies three times as often, etc. Normally, however, KeepMyIP starts one copy of itself as soon as your Windows boots up and keeps running until you shut down the system. Of course, if you run an Internet server, you should avoid shutting down your system, except for very brief periods of time (minutes). Otherwise, your servers are not running and neither is KeepMyIP, so your IP address may change. But if you keep your system up and running, you can keep your IP for a very long time.
