Freeware for fast development and application of classification type networks including the multilayer perceptron (MLP), functional link network, piecewise linear network, nearest neighbor classifier (NNC), self organizing map (SOM) and K-Means clustering. C source code for applying trained networks is provided, so users can use networks in their own applications. User-supplied txt-format training data files, containing rows of numbers, can be of any size. Example training data is also provided. Fast VB Graphics for network classification error and SOM cluster formation are included. Extensive help files are provided in the software.
Although principally aimed at scientists and engineers, Nuclass7 is highly automated and requires very few parameter choices by the user. Advanced features include a fast MLP training algorithm (faster than BP and better than LM), input feature selection, pruning (elimination) of useless units (for MLP) and modules for PLN). Utilities are provided for counting patterns, deleting columns, combining files, splitting files, calculating column mean and standard deviation, and plotting column histograms. Training data can be compressed using the discrete Karhunen-Loeve' transform (KLT). This freeware version of Nuclass7 limits the MLP to 10 hidden units, the PLN to 10 clusters, and the NNC to 50 clusters. The commercial version, which lacks these limitations, is also available for those who need it. The regression/approximation version of this software, called Numap7, is also available. Nuclass7 was developed by the Image Processing and Neural Networks Lab of Univ. of Texas at Arlington.

DataFit is a tool used to perform nonlinear regression (curve fitting), statistical analysis and data plotting. What sets DataFit apart from similar curve fitting and regression programs is its ease of use. DataFit is driven by a well-designed graphical interface, so there are no complicated instructions to remember and no programs to write. Data entry is achieved through a standard spreadsheet interface, which supports ASCII and ODBC data source import, as well as cutting and pasting data from the clipboard. With DataFit, you can perform linear or nonlinear regression on data containing up to 20 independent variables. You can choose from more than 600 pre-defined equations, which are commonly used in statistical, scientific and engineering applications, or create your own equations. Solved equations are sorted according to goodness-of-fit. DataFit also includes forward selection, backward elimination, stepwise selection and manual variable selection modes to help determine which independent variables should be included in your regression model for multivariate datasets. Results include completely customizable 2D and 3D plots, fitted parameters with confidence intervals, input vs. estimated data and goodness-of-fit information. Plots can be saved as templates, which allows them to be applied to new plots in order to instantly give them your own custom appearance. Data tables, supporting interpolation and extrapolation (projections), can be exported in ASCII, Excel or HTML format. You can also automatically export source code in BASIC or C to utilize any solved equation in a program that you have written. Macro capability allows curve fitting operations to be performed non-graphically, either in batch mode or by calling DataFit from an external program. With the combination of an intuitive interface, online help and wide range of features, it is a tool that is used effectively by both beginners and experts.

ImageDIG consists of three integrated modules which allow the user to convert 2D flat images into 3D (x,y,z) data or if a graph, convert the graph in image form into 2 dimensional numerical data. The third module is a full analysis plotting utility where the user can import either the 2D or 3D data saved above or import any number of columns of data from a file. The data can then be analyzed using several statistical functions and plotted.
ImageDIG was developed because other functionally similar programs (2D) either had a steep learning curve, incomplete or confusing to use. However, no other program includes an image to 3D numerical data converter and a general purpose x/y plotter.
A variety of data analysis options are available in this module. Example images for tutorial purposes are supplied. This includes real world images of an electron beam for the 3D digitizer. Computer generated plots (linear, log, fractional, etc), scanned images from articles for the 2D digitizer, and ascii data files for the universal plotter.
Graph processing functions include statistical analysis such as: Min/Max/Mean Fitting - Standard deviation, best fit, and curve fit. Curve fit includes: variable-order polynomial, logarithmic, exponential, power, inverse, spline, and moving averages
Additional features include a built in bitmap editor, magnifier and spreadsheet style data viewer/editor for the 2D scanner module.
Complete control of the graph windows such as Labels, Legends, Grids, Colors, etc through the Graph Toolbox.
Import image from the clipboard or from a TWAIN compatible device directly into the 2D or 3D scanner image box including Web images.
