Astro-Mania teaches all the important facts about 38 astronomical objects such as planets and stars. It has a learning database that includes essays, images, and lists of all the important facts for each of the 38 space objects. The space objects include the nine planets, stars and star types, asteroids, meteorites, galaxies, and more.
Games based on this database allow the player to connect to the facts in four different ways, enhancing learning. Not only do players connect the fact (or clue) to the name of the object as do traditional games, they also make three more connections. They are: matching the fact to the object's image, matching the name to the object's image, and finally matching one fact about the object to another one.
Additionally, Astro-Mania includes a review screen after each round. This review screen includes the part of the essay that relates to each fact. Thus, game players can read additional material about the fact to place it into context. This allows the players not only to know the fact but also to understand it.
Astro-Mania includes one study level and seven game levels. The seven game levels allow the player to advance sequentially, to master one level before tackling another. Level one is easy whereas level seven is quite hard, even for those who know astronomy. Each level includes a ranking so that players know exactly how they rate. Players will see their scores jump from Learner to Scientist and finally to Einstein.

CyberSky is an exciting, entertaining, and educational astronomy program that transforms your personal computer into your personal planetarium. CyberSky provides an excellent way to learn about astronomy and to explore the wonders of the sky visible in the distant past, the present, and the far-off future.
CyberSky displays accurate charts of the sky as seen from any location on the earth. Sky charts can include stars, constellations, deep sky objects, and solar system objects, and can be enhanced by the addition of labels, coordinate system grids, and reference lines. CyberSky's user-friendly interface allows you to easily change your view of the sky, search for celestial objects, and display data about those objects. CyberSky also prints attractive sky charts that you can take outside with you.
CyberSky was designed to be simple enough to appeal to people who are just beginning to discover astronomy, yet provide enough information to be useful to people who have already learned the basics. CyberSky has the ability to quickly and easily show you what is visible today or next weekend, but it is also accurate enough to help with research involving the appearance of the sky in the distant past, for example, during the era of pyramid construction in ancient Egypt.
CyberSky's ease of use and amazing animation feature make it an innovative and motivating learning environment. CyberSky provides an excellent way to learn the names and positions of the stars, constellations, and deep sky objects, and to become familiar with the motions of solar system objects across the sky. Many of the most basic and interesting astronomical phenomena can only be observed over weeks or months of time, and by observing the sky from widely separated locations. CyberSky lets you do this; it places the sky under your control.

Welcome to 1st Light - a Solar System Simulator that allows you to throw out a thumb and hitch a ride through our incredible solar system. Or, if you prefer, 1st Light can let you become a celestial sculptor, creating any type of solar system you can imagine . You can use 1st Light to bring places you've only read about to life or you could use it to promote your own special warped or educated view of how the galaxy should be. You are only limited by your imagination and of course, the stability of your computer, which we all know can hobble even the best of us - hehe. 1st Light can be downloaded in two different ways: (1) FREE! You can download it for free and enjoy a fully interactive 3D fly-through of our solar system. For example, you can be the first person to fly to Mars or you can fly to Jupiter and see how its moons orbit the massive behemoth. You will also be able to load systems that other people have created and put on the web - not bad for free eh? (2) REGISTER! You can also give us a paltry $19.95 and masterfully create your own solar system - texturing any number of suns, planets, and moons in any way you see fit. You will also be able to apply atmospheres of any sort, real and imaginary to your planet, then apply lighting and highlights. Beyond all that, you can designate the characteristics of your planets and moons and determine their distances from the sun and each other. Best of all, you can create a whole solar system around a sun textured with your own head, thus proving to all who know you that the world truly does revolve around you!!
