ThmIndxr(tm) (pronounced "thumb indexer") is a Windows application that was written specifically to simplify the process of creating "index" pages for collections of digital images. Whether you're a novice computer user or a seasoned Web professional, you'll find ThmIndxr(tm) is a useful tool that can help you quickly produce the Web pages needed to display your pictures. Simple enough for a beginner, yet with a sufficiently wide range of adjustable parameters to keep a "power user" happy, ThmIndxr(tm) meets the needs of a broad community of users.
ThmIndxr(tm) automatically writes all of the HTML code required for building a Web page, and creates the thumbnail images that are a key part of building a page that will load quickly. The pages it builds are compatible with any hosting solution: Whether you use a free service such as GeoCities or MSN, or have your own Web site, displaying your image collections is a simple task: After running ThmIndxr(tm), just load the HTML file, the thumbnail directories, and your original images onto your server. After doing so, you can immediately either publish the URL where you installed your new pages, or provide link(s) from your existing pages: As soon as the pages ThmIndxr(tm) creates are loaded onto the server, they are "ready to go."
ThmIndxr(tm) is not "as is" software, but is guaranteed to perform as described in its manual and online documentation.
The next release of ThmIndxr(tm) is planned for third quarter 2003, and will include creation of slide show pages, creation of intermediate-size images for high-resolution originals (an important feature if you're working with a 3+ megapixel digital camera), and support for arbitrary caption text. Due to the substantial work involved in updating ThmIndxr(tm) and its utilities, the new release will also be accompanied by a registration fee increase from US$49.00 to US$79.00. Registered users will be entitled to a free upgrade when the new version is released.

These functions are implemented using an "open" RDBMS as a data repository giving
the user direct access to the data and database "views" to aid in data analysis,
business, and customer relationship management. The intent of the system as
implemented is to be used by smaller organizations, which have a small number of users.
PHULmonty uses MSAccess for data storage, and view management. Most, if not all of
the "business rules" are implemented as database views (queries), thus allowing a
large amount of system flexibility without application level programming changes. This
is an open and extensible system, with plans to implement purchasing, time and billing,
and other functions. This approach provides the advantages of an open relational
database system with CRM functionality, without the relatively high cost of an Enterprise
level system. Although by up scaling to a more enterprise oriented ODBC compliant
RDBMS, it can be used by larger organizations. Up scaling using other RDBMs can be
accomplished with relatively little effort, and is currently planned, for other implementations.
The demonstration version allows all the implemented functions to be used, and is only limited to the time you may use the program, after the demonstration period you must obtain a full license.
