Winpackage prende in input un file sorgente, un file ospite ed un file destinazione. Il file ospite viene impacchettato e criptato all'interno del file sorgente ed il tutto salvato nel file destinazione.

Ad esempio e' possibile nascondere documenti all'interno di immagini, lasciando il file di immagine inalterato in modo da non destare alcun sospetto, il file ottenuto sara' a tutti gli effetti un'immagine sia per gli applicativi di fotoritocco che per i browser internet, quindi sara' possibile divulgare l'immagine inserendola in un sito internet e solo con Winpackage sara' possibile estrarre l'ospite contenuto. Il tutto puo' essere protetto da password con la possibilita' di aggiungere dei commenti. Tipologie di files supportate per nascondervi e criptarvi all'interno degli ospiti: jpg,gif,bmp,avi,mpg,mp3,wav,exe,dll,scr.
