Cricklers are a new type of word puzzle - a total re-invention of the crossword puzzle for the computer age. Traditional crossword puzzles are incredibly successful but they have several serious drawbacks: (1) They are difficult to construct, (2) Most words are short and often silly -- chosen only because they fit, (3) Matching clues to numbers is a distraction, and (4) A given puzzle is usually either too easy or too hard.
Cricklers solve all of these problems while retaining the essence and feel of a traditional crossword puzzle. Cricklers adapt: they become easier or harder depending on the skill of the solver. Words are chosen by the designer -- the computer takes care of fitting them together. Clues and answers sit side by side.
Cricklers use upper and lower case correctly and can handle numbers, symbols, and accented letters. You can see which letters are vowels, and you get a reassuring sound when you complete a clue correctly.
We have indeed re-invented the crossword puzzle and we hope you enjoy the results.

Astrorix is a traditional bat & ball game like Breakout or Arkanoid.
The bat is moved using the mouse. The bouncing ball must be kept inside the playfield, so it can destroy the blocks. As soon as all of the blocks are destroyed, the game proceeds to the next level. The random items which appear on the screen can have a very useful effect, or be quite a pain in the neck, too.
The game consists of 15 different levels. The password feature allows to jump right to one of the later stages, which of course include some additional surprises. But first the game can be made easier or harder by adjusting the number of lives. The highest scores are stored with names.

THE PROBLEM:
If you spend any amount of time on the internet, you probably log in to Web sites many times in a day. More and more Web sites require registration to access content, making it increasingly difficult to remember online passwords. Fitznik 2 continues the adventures of the odd looking creature Fitz through another 63 levels of brain teasers tougher than the original Screaming Duck Software game Fitznik.
Fitznik 2 introduces new game elements: Force-Fields that may be deactivated by placing objects on top of buttons, Seeker Droids that take a step towards you for every step you take, and pressure plates that rise out of the ground to form pillars. All of the new elements were designed to cause maximum interaction with the existing elements from the original Fitznik. Fitznik 2 explores the different consequences of those interactions throughout the 63 levels.

Memoriser is a utility to help you remember phone numbers, account numbers, passwords, birthdays and anything that is important for you to remember but you haven't actually taken the time or effort to do so. Define a question with an answer and let Memoriser quiz you until you remember this question's answer without even thinking but just knowing the answer! Memoriser uses a scoring system to make sure that you focus more on questions answered incorrectly. Answering a question correctly increments the score. Correct answers will be asked less frequently than wrong answers. Lets say you define a question Work of category Telephone Numbers and with the answer 0123456789. If you get this question wrong Memoriser will quiz you until you have successfully remembered it. Then it will start with the next question with the lowest score. After you have successfully answered all your other questions, Memoriser will quiz your memory for the Work question again. Oops, you forgot the answer because it was quite a while since this question was asked and score wrong. But amazingly you'll notice that this time you will remember the answer much quicker than the first time! Memoriser will help you to remember anything with continuous repetition. I wrote this software for myself because I have all these important account numbers and telephone numbers of friends and am embarrassed that I can't remember them, or have really taken the time to even try to memorize them. Memoriser starts with my PC on startup and I define the time between each question. While my day progresses I am quizzed on my predefined questions at the scheduled times. At first it is very frustrating because I keep on forgetting the answers but I quickly learned to focus and concentrate a bit harder to remember. In the end the repetition pays off.
