The Return To Citadel: Tri Pack

After an incident on 33 Mars SC in 2810 when a rookie pilot selected the wrong gear when docking with the main central and reduced half the planet to molten lava, the Commander decided that a special training facility was needed to provide an elite corps of pilots for the advanced military skimmers used in colonization and reconnaissance work. The Citadel Academy for Advanced Pilots (The Citadel) was founded in 2813 to meet this requirement. With an intake of over a hundred would be pilots a year, only a few meet the exacting requirement of skills. In order to graduate from the Citadel cadets must complete 180 missions, grouped in three levels of experience. The first 50 levels of the "Kids Pack" are for the freshmen who just started to learn the secrets of the Citadel. 80 levels of the "original game" are for the experienced pilots and the "expert pack" with its 50 levels will test you so the authorities know your skills are high enough to graduate. The Citadel is waiting for you! Byxon Games is happy to announce the new reduced price for this popular game! Now you can save 20 bucks and get "The Return To Citadel: Tri Pack" for only $19.95 (old price: $39.95).

Declan's Japanese FlashCards

Declan's Japanese FlashCards is a fully configurable audio-based Japanese vocabulary flash-card program. The program has been designed to help students learn a large number of Japanese words as quickly as possible in a systematic but fun and simple way. The program includes an audio feature that uses voice recordings of a word's pronunciation to aid the learning process. The program includes a flashcards feature a well as a number of exercises which help with the memorisation of words and test the student's progress. Exercises include Kanji/Kana multiple choice, English multiple choice, listening multiple choice, a word/definition connecting exercise and a grid search/matching exercise. Words are grouped into Word Files and the flashcards and exercises are undertaken on the basis for these Word Files. The program comes pre-installed with a number of Word Files and many others can be downloaded from the Declan Software Japanese Word File archive and installed manually. Upon release Word Files totalling over 3200 of the most frequently used Japanese words - each with a sound recording of its pronunciation - were available for download. Word Files are studied based on a Learning List. The Learning List feature allows the student to concentrate, at any one time, on a smaller sub-set of the larger Word File. Only after a word in the Learning List has been mastered will it graduate from the Learning List and another word from the Word File replace it. Words graduate from the Learning List if they are correctly answered consecutively in each of the exercises. One incorrect answer and the word's consecutive answer counter is reset to zero. This process of words graduating through the Learning List and being replaced continues until all the words in the complete Word File have been learned. The it is time to move to the next Word File.

ReadWrite Chinese (Simplified)

ReadWrite Chinese teaches the 1000 most frequently used Chinese characters. Both a simplified and traditional version of the program is available. The program is based around a "Learning List" which groups a sub-set of the total 1000 characters. This allows students to concentrate their efforts on a smaller number of character at any one time. A character moves off the Learning List after it has been learned and is automatically replaced by an, as of yet, unlearned character. In that way the size of the learning list remains constant. Users can modify the size of the learning list by manually adding or removing characters. A number of exercises are included which are used to gauge progress. A character graduates from the learning list only after all the exercises for that character have been correctly answered. The exercises must be answered correctly consecutively - meaning that getting on exercise wrong resets that character's score for all exercises and each exercise needs to be redone. Exercises include: * Meaning Multiple Choice Exercise * Pinyin Pronunciation Exercise * Pronunciation Tone Exercise * Stroke Order Exercise * Grid Search Exercise A flashcard-like Review feature allows student to preview all that details of each character in the learning list. The Review feature displays a character's stroke order (with animation), meaning, pinyin pronunciations as well as a number of examples of the character's use in Chinese words or phrases. Also included is a stroke order practice feature. The stroke order practice is not required to be completed to graduate a character off the learning list but is included as an extra feature that provides students with real-time practice at writing the character.

Moraff Falling Blocks

Moraff's Falling Blocks is a colorful, fun game for one or two players on the same PC. It offers 16.8 million colors and builds a graphic background on the game board as each level is eliminated. Landscape and fractal backgrounds are also available. The block sizes can be resized to standard or custom sizes, which is good, since the standard rectangular blocks can challenge your perception as they fall and rotate. The blocks get smaller and change in configuration yet the game board remains the same size. Keep an eye on the optional preview screen to check out which block is coming down next -- you'll need to strategically place the huge annoyance pieces that occasionally fall, as well as utilize bomb blocks effectively. Five different block sets are included; their appearance changes as you graduate to different levels. High scores are maintained for each of the four predetermined game sizes. An optional included MoreJongg game utilizes the same blocks for the tiles.
