MS Outlook als Netzwerkversion ohne MS Exchange (shared PST)

Public OutLook nutzt ein zentral installiertes MS Outlook als "Öffentlichen Ordner" und ermöglicht somit zentrale, unternehmensweite Kontakte, Aufgaben, Termine, Notizen, etc.
Lesende und schreibende Rechte mit mehreren Benutzern gleichzeitig in eine Outlook Datendatei (.pst).
Eine Alternative zum Microsoft Exchange Server. Vernetzung über einen Öffentlichen Ordner speziell für Arbeitsgruppen und Kleinbetriebe.
Jeder Mitarbeiter kann sehen wer wann welchen Termin hat oder wer mit welcher Aufgabe beschäftigt ist.
Sie haben auf dieses zentrale Outlook alle Funktionalitäten wie in einem "Persönlichen Ordner". Schreibrechte, Leserechte oder Regelassistent. Alle Standardfunktionen bleiben auch in dem "Öffentlichen Ordner" erhalten. Alle Mitarbeiter können die gleichen Kontakte nutzen.
Mit unterschiedliche Versionen von MS Outlook ist eine Vernetzung problemlos realisierbar. Das bestehende Outlook Netzwerk muss nicht geändert werden.
Public OutLook ist kein Synchronisationsprogramm und belastet somit nicht das Netzwerk, sondern ist ein eigener sogenannter "Store Provider" wie Microsoft Exchange Server.
Auch für Notes Anwender, die Outlook benutzen möchten, aber aufgrund der hohen Kosten des Exchange Servers dies bislang vermieden haben, ist dies eine Interessante Lösung.
Unterstützung von benutzerdefinierten Formularen, sowie die Anbindung von Palm und PDA über Zusatzprogramme ist gewährleistet.
Die Funktionalität wird kurzfristig durch ein Synchronisationsprogramm für einen offline Zugriff, sowie durch eine Outlook netzwerkbasierende Faxlösung (Public Fax) erweitert.
Eine Beschränkungen hinsichtlich der Anzahl der vernetzten Outlook Benutzer besteht nicht. Externer Zugriff über DFÜ Einwahl, sowie VPN Remote Access ist möglich.
