SignStation is an innovative application that lets you apply a digital signature to a file, verify the digital signature on a signed file, encrypt and decrypt files and manage certificates, among other functionalities like email, hash, and file management.
Using a two-ways approach interface, SignStation take care of office productivity with its classic mode -based on a file manager metaphor-, without forget the first time user with its wizard mode -that guides the user step by step-.
The application uses PKCS#15 certificates for sign and decrypt documents, and X.509 DER or CER certificates to encrypt files (demo certificates included).
SignStation is also a file manager: you can navigate between files and folders on your system, connect to a network path, delete, find and open files, also execute programs. By using the Open SSL 0.9.7c library, developers can write applications that take advantage of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL v2/v3), Transport Layer Security (TLS v1). The Open SSL library uses the included full-strength general-purpose cryptography library, which can be used by itself. Security features such as the following can be implemented:
· Data integrity: An application can detect if data has been modified during transmission.
· Authenticity: An application can verify the identity of the sender using certificates.
· Privacy: An application can ensure that no intermediary between the sender and the recipient can understand the data.
Transport Layer Security is an extension of SSL. It is now overseen by an international standards organization. It provides the same capabilities as SSL (data integrity, authenticity, and privacy between client and server), but takes advantage of newer, more advanced cryptographic technology. It is backwards compatible with SSL.
The cryptographic library includes a multitude of encryption algorithms. The symmetric, or private key, encryption algorithms offered include Rijndael (now officially the Advanced Encryption Standard, or AES, algorithm of the U.S. government), IDEA, DES, 3DES, RC2, RC4, and Blowfish. The asymmetric, or private/public key, encryption algorithms include RSA, DSA, and Diffie-Hellman. Also included are message digest algorithms such as MD2, MD5, MDC2, and SHA, whose resulting hashes can be used by digital signature schemes to digitally sign documents. The Open SSL library uses some but not all of these algorithms.
To compile for the Win32 platform, Perl or compiling under Cygwin is required. Some of the encryption routines/algorithms are covered by patents.

E-mail

HIME stands for Huge Integer Math and Encryption library.
It is a collection of functions for Windows programmers that allows to implement RSA public key encryption, AES (Rijndael) and ArcFour (RC4) secret key encryption and digital signatures using the SHA-1, SHA-256 or MD5 Secure Hash Algorithm in your programs.
HIME also contains functions for huge prime number generation, cryptographically secure random number generation (a.o. Blum-Blum-Shub and RSA), Diffie-Hellman key exchange algorithm and huge integer number mathematical operations.
These mathematical functions can serve as building blocks for implementing other public key encryption schemes.
A huge integer number in HIME can be hundreds of thousands of digits long; 2^31 (2147483648) bits long to be exact. That's over 268 MILLION digits! (In contrast, a strong 512-bit encryption key is just 64 digits).
HIME is a dll, so every programming language that can access a dll can use HIME: C, C++, Visual Basic, Delphi, PowerBASIC, PureBASIC, Euphoria, Java,... Even scripting languages like Macromedia Director (with GLU32) can use HIME.
HIME comes with demo and test programs (including their source code) to show HIMEs performance and as an example of how to use HIME.
Demo programs in Visual Basic 5/6, Delphi and PureBasic are also included.
HIME was written in PowerBASIC and inline assembler.
HIME is available as a precompiled dll with included source code as an option.
