FSUM

Free command line utility for file multi-checksum generation and verification. It allows to create/verify popular file hashes/checksums: MD2, MD4, MD5, SHA-1, SHA-2(256,384,512), RIPEMD-160, PANAMA, TIGER, CRC-32, ADLER32, and the message digest used in eMule/eDonkey (ed2k) software. Its most common use is checking files for corruption (data integrity checking). A hash/checksum calculation might be performed on data before transferring (downloading/uploading) it from one location to another. Making the same calculation after the transfer (download/upload) and comparing the former and latter results, you can check if the received data is corrupted or not. FSUM notifies about any bad, incorrect, missing file. It is a very fast, easy to use tool. Allows to recurse directories. Works with large size files. Supports .MD5 and .SFV file formats (automatically recognizes the format when verifying). Compatible with md5sum, MD5Summer, Easy MD5 Creator, SFV Checker/Verifier, WinSFV, Win CRC32.

AccuSplit

AccuSplit is a multi-threaded Win32 application designed to rapidly and reliably split large files and computer videos into smaller segments to allow for easy archival to external media like DVD, CD-R, Zip or floppy disks. These file segments can then be recombined at a later time into an exact copy of the original file. The application is capable of segmenting and then correctly reconstructing ANY file, even large Windows Backup files that exceed 20GB. To insure that the file reconstructed from the file segments exactly matches the original source file the application incorporates an advanced cryptographic algorithm that computes an MD5 Message Digest for both the original and reconstructed files. An MD5 Message Digest match between these files indicates with absolute certainty that no data was lost during the file split and reconstruction process. AccuSplit also includes a special Video Smart Split mode that can split AVI (including DIVX / XVID / INDEO / DV-AVI) and MPEG-1 format files (including Video-CD) into "independently playable" segments without a lengthy video re-rendering process. Now you can split your large video files into CD-sized (or any other size) segments and play them back directly from the CD - no file reconstruction is required. The latest version includes a Video Preview option that allows the user to manually adjust the location of the file split points - avoiding splits in the middle of an important scene. AccuSplit has been designed to run as a stand-alone executable. There is nothing to install. Simply extract the application and its help files from the downloaded Zip file and double-click on the AccuSplit.EXE file to begin program execution. The application runs under Windows [95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/Server2003] and doesn't include any of the annoying AdWare or NagWare plug-ins that are common to many of today's shareware applications. AccuSplit also includes a full user help file.

SHA1files

SHA1files is a 32 bits console application that computes the SHA1 digest of files under Windows. The main applications are     - the detection of any change in files (typically a web server directory to make sure no file has been altered - integrity check)     - the detection of duplicate files on disk (based on their actual content, not their name or location) SHA1files {/root= [/duplicates] [/ExcludeList=] | [/verify=]} /root= the directory where to begin /ExcludeList= exclude the files matching the lines contained in this text file (wildcards allowed) /verify= compare the files currently on disk against this text file containing the captured output of a previous run of SHA1files /duplicates show the duplicate files only All parameters ARE case sensitive. The lines in the ExcludeList must match the FULL path ("*/SHA1files.htm"). The distribution file SHA1files.zip contains batch files with examples how to use the program. SHA1files /root=c:\test SHA1files /root=c:\test /duplicates SHA1files /root=c:\test /ExcludeList=SHA1ExcludeList.txt SHA1files /root=c:\test > test.txt SHA1files /verify=test.txt SHA1files returns an errorlevel 0 if everything went OK, and a positive value otherwise, in order to allow specific actions in batch files depending on the results. SHA1files is freeware.

OpenSSL

By using the Open SSL 0.9.7c library, developers can write applications that take advantage of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL v2/v3), Transport Layer Security (TLS v1). The Open SSL library uses the included full-strength general-purpose cryptography library, which can be used by itself. Security features such as the following can be implemented: · Data integrity: An application can detect if data has been modified during transmission. · Authenticity: An application can verify the identity of the sender using certificates. · Privacy: An application can ensure that no intermediary between the sender and the recipient can understand the data. Transport Layer Security is an extension of SSL. It is now overseen by an international standards organization. It provides the same capabilities as SSL (data integrity, authenticity, and privacy between client and server), but takes advantage of newer, more advanced cryptographic technology. It is backwards compatible with SSL. The cryptographic library includes a multitude of encryption algorithms. The symmetric, or private key, encryption algorithms offered include Rijndael (now officially the Advanced Encryption Standard, or AES, algorithm of the U.S. government), IDEA, DES, 3DES, RC2, RC4, and Blowfish. The asymmetric, or private/public key, encryption algorithms include RSA, DSA, and Diffie-Hellman. Also included are message digest algorithms such as MD2, MD5, MDC2, and SHA, whose resulting hashes can be used by digital signature schemes to digitally sign documents. The Open SSL library uses some but not all of these algorithms. To compile for the Win32 platform, Perl or compiling under Cygwin is required. Some of the encryption routines/algorithms are covered by patents.

Cryptosystem ME6

Cryptography is that area of expertise which deals with secret writing, the art or science of storing information in a form which hides it from those not meant to see it, yet allows it to be revealed when needed. Cryptosystem ME6 is a software program which encrypts information stored in data files so that it can be read only by someone who knows the encryption key which was used to encrypt that data. The encryption key is a word or phrase given to the program which it uses to scramble the information in a way which is unique for that key. Once encrypted, the data is secure from unauthorized access, since anyone who does not know the key cannot decrypt the data. When Cryptosystem ME6 is used to recover the data the original key must be specified. If the correct key is supplied then the data is restored to its original form. Cryptosystem ME6 uses a private (or symmetric) key encryption system. Data is encrypted using a key which is a phrase (which can be up to 64 characters long) or a sequence of 64 random bytes. Without this key the encrypted files appear to consist of meaningless bytes and the information in them is safe from prying eyes. Files are normally compressed before encryption. There is no limit (except available disk space) on the size, the type or the number of files which can be encrypted in a single operation with ME6. The encryption process in Cryptosystem ME6 uses pseudo-random number generators, a secure hash function (the MD5 Message Digest Algorithm) and plaintext feedback, combined in a way to ensure the security of the encrypted data. Data encrypted using ME6, even when subjected to statistical analysis, appears to consist of random bytes, providing no information.
