Lannouncement is the electronic equivalent of a bulletin board. Lannouncement is designed to allow people in your organization to post bulletins, distribute documents or other files, and engage in on-line discussions. It is a "groupware" product. People post messages to the board so that others may select and view them. Users can elect to print the message or save attachments associated to the message. You may join in a public dialog with other Lannouncement users regarding a message or initiate your own discussion.
Lannouncement is organized into two types of messages, Topics and Dialogs. Topics are documents that can only be read. Typical uses of a topic would be the posting of new user information, a listing of an organization's phone numbers and structure, advertising items for sale, or the distribution of the Corporate Handbook. TechAid ASP is an Active Server Page program that can be installed on Internet Information Server version 4 or higher and on Personal Web Server. It can be accessed from a Javascript enabled web browser and is compatible with Internet Explorer 5.0 and higher or Netscape 6.0 and higher. TechAid ASP allows users to record their time using an organization's standard task numbering system, or record their time using a reference that identifies a task that does not have an 'official' designation. This allows users to account for all of their time, not just the time they spend working on tasks that have a standard identification. TechAid ASP includes reports that give information as simple as the total hours reported by a user for a given date range, to detailed reports that show all information for every activity log entry made by a user. TechAid ASP uses an Access 2000 database and does not require that Microsoft Access be installed on the web server. TechAid ASP was designed to be so intuitive that users understand all of its functions on first use. The installation wizard completely automates the installation process. Roll Call is an employee in and out board and a secure instant messaging system. The main fallacy of in and out boards is people forget to change their status. With Roll Call, you only need to remember to change it when you leave your desk, not when you return. When you click your mouse or type on your keyboard for the first time after being away from your desk, Roll Call will automatically change your status to "desk". If you happen to leave your desk and forget to change your status, Roll Call will change it to "idle" after a given amount of time. When you remember to change your status, Roll Call makes it easy by allowing you to type a hotkey or select a status from a popup menu that is presented when Roll Call's tray icon is right clicked. For instance, you can define a hotkey to change your status to "lunch", another to "home", etc. No matter what the forefront application is, you can enter a key sequence to change your status. Roll Call's tray icon also graphically represents what your status is. When you change your status, Roll Call saves you time by defaulting to a reasonable return time. If "lunch" or "break", the current time plus the typical amount of time you take for lunch or a break respectively. If "home", the next business day at your typical arrival time. The calculation of the next business day considers company holidays that you provide and weekends. Roll Call provides additional information. Associated with each employee record is a notes section, group list, email address and a phone list. Groups are useful because the employee list can be filtered to only show those associated with a particular group.
