Web Update Builder is a content management tool for creating small stand alone software clients that allow inexperienced users make changes to their web sites. The whole concept is quite simple. You just have to add special WUB HTML tags to mark editable areas on web pages. You can do that with any text or specialized HTML code editor or using simple tag extension (provided with the program) for Dreamweaver. Next step is to set some project specific parameters in Web Update Builder and get a software client ready for the end user. Each software client has built-in help page and as a stand-alone program does not require installation procedure. What end user gets after starting the client is a list of pages available for changing and simple textboxes for typing in new text. The system allows changes to text, images, URLs and e-mail addresses. It will also manage object groups (add, duplicate, delete) and allow editing contents in tables, lists and similar structures. A F-Set, or File Set, is a file/folder container. You can put any number of files/folders into a F-Set. Each folder in a F-Set package can have a wildcard filter. The filter can be including or excluding. This helps to pick out any files from folders.
A Operation defines how a F-Set is to be processed. It can be copy, move, delete or zip.
A F-Set can be saved for later use. When you want to apply an operation to a F-Set, you just drag the F-Set and drop it to the operation.
A F-Set can also be binded to an operation. To carry out the binded operation, you simply double click the icon.
