A close call in the 1980's woke the scientific space community to how unprepared the earth is. And what about the Titanic? The ship was plagued from the moment Titanic was placed in water. But the person ultimately blamed for the demise Titanic was not even on board or had anything to do with Titanic. And to this day his family is trying to clear his name. GrandTour

GRANDTOUR can simulate space as seen from the Voyager and Giotto spacecraft. In addition, GRANDTOUR can generate scenes from arbitrary points in space or the Earth, with the spacecraft visible to the observer. The planet, moons, and rings of interest (or comet, nucleus, and tail), stars, the sun, and the spacecraft are all accurately drawn with wireframe representations. Hidden line removal is done for the body surfaces. The motions of the bodies themselves are highly accurate, with errors no greater than 500 kilometers. The user has considerable control over the time step, field of view, etc., and many frames per second are typically generated. The program was originally developed at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory by John D. Callahan to assist in the analysis of science and optical navigation data. In addition, the program was filmed by the BBC as part of a NOVA documentary on the Voyager Uranus encounter, and by the Four Point Entertainment Company for a commercially available video on Halley's Comet. Program conveniently runs from any Windows/DOS.

MaterialWorlds Simulations

Live interactive physics simulations let you explore the Solar System (orbits, seasons, gravity, tides, satellites and comets), play snooker (on a full size table) and experiment with Laws of Motion simulations (free worksheets provided for pendulum, Newtons cradle, terminal velocity and Galileos balls - as dropped from the Leaning Tower of Pisa) - latest release includes machines ( pendulum clock and siege engines) bridge, crash and ideal gas simulations and experiments. With real-time visualisation of forces and velocities (as arrows on each object as they interact or are pulled around with the mouse) and scrolling graphs recording what happens, MaterialWorlds gives a real feel for how the physical world works.

The Oracle of Delphi

A more detailed study of the significant cult events briefly listed in the partial twenty-year timeline offered below would reveal to the reader how such organizations intentionally, insidiously and effectively use various mind control techniques, including drug therapies, to control their subjects. The events set forth in The Oracle of Delphi, therefore, must seem all the more plausible, indeed all the more likely, when viewed in comparison to these actual events. Fact is, after all, stranger than fiction. March 1997: Marshall Applewhite and 38 followers commit mass suicide in a concerted effort to escape their bodies and board a spacecraft believed to be following comet Hale-Bopp. October 1994: The burned bodies of 48 Solar Temple members are discovered in a farmhouse and three chalets in Switzerland. At the same time, five bodies, including that of an infant, are found in a chalet north of Montreal. Twenty-one more deaths follow in December of 1995 and March of 1997. April 1993: At least 70 Branch Davidian cult members die after a 51-day siege of their religious compound near Waco, Texas. The sect's leader, David Koresh, who told followers he was Jesus Christ, dies of a gunshot wound to the head. October 1993: Fifty-three hill Vietnamese tribe villagers commit mass suicide with flintlock guns and other primitive weapons in the belief they will go straight to heaven. They are victims of fraud committed by a man who receives cash donations for promising a speedy road to paradise. December 1991: Mexican minister Ramon Morales Almazan and 29 followers suffocate after he tells them to keep praying and ignore toxic fumes filling their church. December 1990: Twelve people die in a religious ritual in Tijuana, Mexico, apparently after drinking fruit punch tainted by industrial alcohol. November 1978: The Rev. Jim Jones leads 914 followers to their deaths at Jonestown, Guyana. Most of the congregation drinks cyanide-laced grap

Gravitorium Pro

The prime purpose of Gravitorium is to let you play with ideas about gravity and gravitational systems. While it's not intended to be a highly accurate solar system simulator, at low speeds its accuracy is really pretty good. And, best of all, it lets you "play universe maker". Throw in a few extra planets, add a black hole, set a comet plunging towards the Earth! Or create an entirely new solar system from scratch.
