ASCII Key is a utility using unformatted text files (ASCII- or other character sets). It uses the platform "EXCEL(c) 97 / 2000 ". The main focus of the program is "comparing the contents of two text files", "identifying duplicate records" and "filtering".
These features always refer to the "key columns", which can be easily determined by using a special function before starting the program.
By allowing to process multiple files ASCII Key can be used also to combine single text or HTML files into one large file. More features:
Join: Copy selected columns from one file to another in case of identical keys.
Split: Split a file according to its key columns.
Statistics: Counting the occurrences of words in text files (giving the number for each different word).
All functions maybe extended by repetition (input = output, e.g. searching common keys in several files). For an easy start of the program you may save all parameters as well as the paths of all input and output files in a "variant". It is possible to store your variants in a separate Excel file so that when substituting the ASCII Key file (e.g. by a new version) all your saved settings are preserved.
There is no general restriction concerning the number of lines ASCII Key is able to process. This number only depends on the features of your computer, especially on the RAM size. All text elements of the program maybe shown in English or German.
Applications: A major area of application is in the office, especially if you extract data (text files) from a host system and you need a further processing of these extracts (e.g. compare it with other files, filter it).

Kickstart is a powerful tool for DBAs and software developers. It lets you write scripts using a simple Basic like language to generate database objects for every table in a Database schema. For example, you might have developed a robust Oracle stored procedure that inserts rows into a particular database as well as handling security, audit trails and locking. If you want to use that stored procedure as a standard template then you can do it manually, cutting, pasting, editing and testing or you can use Kickstart to do the tedious work for you in a few simple steps. Start Kickstart and point it the database you want to work with. Load your source code into the Kickstart script editor and replace actual table and column names by Kickstart script variables and loops. Push a button and in a few seconds you will have cloned your stored procedure for every database in your schema. Kickstart also gives you an ERD tool that creates ERD diagrams that you can rearrange and print. Its schema viewing tools gives you different ways to view the structure of your database. Kickstart also lets you maintain information about a schema that is not stored in the schema itself. For example, you can designate columns to be currency or dates or date-times, or look-up display fields so your generated scripts can reflect that knowledge.

Excel Compare is a tool that allows you to compare and update Excel files, Excel spreadsheets and individual ranges of sheets. Excel Compare offers three different possibilities for using the variations results:
1. MARK DIFFERENCES
Excel Compare marks the differences of the underlying spreadsheets and tables. Differences are marked with the following colors:
- orange for different cell entries
- green for added and columns and rows
- light blue for deleted columns and rows
At one glance Excel Compare clearly displays all differences and you may decide with which version of the spreadsheet you wish to proceed.
2. CREATE A DIFFERENCE REPORT
