This program is for splitting large files for easier distribution. (Or if you are a spy, you can divide a file up and even encrypt it for security reasons...) Using either a normal window or a wizard interface, files can be split by either the number of files that you want, the maximum file size, or you can use preset common sizes for EMailing, floppies, Zips, CDs, etc... The program can Chop and UnChop files in Wizard and normal interface, and supports file time and attributes preserving, CRC and even encryption. However, if size is an absolute priority and you do not need any of the more advanced features of Chop, you can instead set Chop to create a very small BAT file to rebuild the file. Chop is written in Assembly Language for maximum efficency and minimum size.

Most file encryptors use methods that rely on the time taken in guessing the key number. Providing the key length is 128 bits or greater this method works well... for now. CryptIt uses a variant of Vernam encryption that can have keys the same size as the file to be encrypted. Thus, if you are encrypting a 5MB file, then you can have a 40 Million bit key! This is virtually unbreakable by any computer, especially when you consider that the file must also be checked with each combination to see if it is decrypted. Furthermore, the key file can be anything - a program, a swap file, an image of your cat or even a music file.
CryptIt also has a ability to use removable media (USB keys, CDs, floppies) as a key, further increasing the security and convenience of the method. If your needs are more simpler then you can also use a word (string), but the advantages of the Vernam method are lost then. Descriptions can be stored within the encrypted file, as well as the file name of the code. This enables the file to be, for example, EMailed to another person who has the same collection of codes as you, while not sending the actual code. Command line operation is also supported and CryptIt is written in Assembly Language for maximum efficiency.

SmEdit is a Small Text Editor designed for a general text manipulation and viewing. It is especially suitable as a replacement for "Notepad", but it's abilities go much further than that. Whenever your computer is connected to the Internet, it is opened up to attacks by anyone experienced with the Internet technology. One of the possible attacks is by using the Telnet protocol to log into your system. If successful, the attacker can gain complete control of your system. With the Imaginary Telnet Server running, he will be served a fake response which will prevent him from accessing any resources available on your system. The server will give him the impression that he has found a top secret military computer. But when he tries to log in, the server will offer humorous rejections. If he uses one of the password cracking programs and tries to log in persistently, the server will feed him a series of completely fake data for a while, making him think that he got in. After a while, the server will "discover" the intruder and kick him off. No matter how hard the attacker tries, he cannot log in to your system via Telnet.
